Kentico is looking for a Medior QA Engineer to join one of our Prague development teams. This is an automation-first role: you will spend most of your time building, extending, and improving our E2E test automation suite — with AI tooling as a core part of your daily workflow, not an optional extra. Your Role and Contribution.
Automation-first mindset: Automation is your primary focus, with the target split being roughly 70% automation and 30% manual exploratory testing, depending on the sprint. You will be responsible for the growth and technical health of your team's Playwright test suite, writing new tests, refactoring existing ones, and continuously raising the quality bar.
E2E automation with Playwright: Write, maintain, and improve Playwright-based E2E tests covering UI flows, API interactions, and visual regressions. You will contribute to the team's automation strategy and help evolve our test architecture and tooling under the guidance of senior engineers.
AI tooling as a core skill: AI tools are first-class citizens in this role. You will use AI-powered assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) every day — to generate test scenarios, scaffold boilerplate, analyze failing tests, investigate complex bugs, and explore the application intelligently. We expect you to experiment and share learnings with the team in AI-assisted quality engineering.
Release quality ownership: Own full regression testing cycles for monthly releases, ensuring new features integrate seamlessly and the platform stays stable under real-world load. Use AI tooling to prioritize risk areas and surface anomalies faster.
Focus on user needs: Go beyond bug-finding. Spot inconsistencies, improve workflows, and ensure the platform performs reliably for large-scale website management. We value functionality, resilience, and user experience over pixel perfection.
Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and UX in a self-organized agile team. Help define acceptance criteria, contribute to test planning, and drive quality standards across the delivery lifecycle.
What You Bring to the Table.
QA experience: Proven experience in a QA role working with web applications. You understand how complex systems behave and how small changes can have a wide-reaching impact.
Coding skills: You are comfortable reading and writing code for test automation in TypeScript (C# is a plus but not a must). You can build and maintain automated tests independently, not just run them. Familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, or a comparable E2E framework is essential. Experience with PowerShell, SQL, or REST API testing is a plus.
Hands-on AI tooling experience: You already use — or are actively exploring — AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) in your QA work. You understand how to prompt effectively, review AI-generated test code critically, and know when AI helps versus when it needs human judgement.
- Experience using AI to generate test cases or test data from specifications
- Using LLMs to analyze test failures, logs, or error patterns
- Automating repetitive QA tasks with AI assistance
- Continuous improvement mindset: You approach quality engineering as a craft — you are always looking for smarter ways to test, better abstractions, and opportunities to automate away toil.
- English proficiency: Our Jira, documentation, and demos are in English. You should be comfortable using it daily.

Experience testing CMS, DXP, or content management platforms
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into automated build workflows
Experience with performance or load testing tools
Contributions to shared tooling, test frameworks, or QA community knowledge-sharing
