How a cuddly friend can change a perspective on life

In December last year, we were thinking about what we could do to help others—not just by donating money, but in a way that would be meaningful, impactful, and beneficial for research while also making a real difference in people’s lives.

Then it hit us, quite literally, right under our noses. Our long-term customer, The Kids' Cancer Project (TKCP), a leading Australian charity dedicated to funding research into childhood cancer, organizes an annual charity event called Christmas for a Cure. This incredible event is committed to raising awareness and funds to support groundbreaking research aimed at finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Giving more than just financial support

We immediately felt this could be a great cause to support. However, we wanted to contribute in a way that went beyond just financial support. We aimed to bring joy and comfort to those in need in a more personal and meaningful way. That’s when we reached out to TKCP to explore other ways we could get involved.

And that’s when the perfect idea came to life—donating teddy bears to children fighting cancer. We realized that hospital stays can be incredibly terrifying for children, filled with uncertainty and fear. A soft, cuddly teddy bear can offer them a sense of comfort, making them feel less alone and afraid during their treatment. So, without hesitation, we donated ten teddy bears to this heartwarming cause.

At Kentico, we know from the beginning that there are many ways to do CSR, and it's not only about writing checks; it's about making a tangible difference in people’s lives. Whether it's supporting childhood cancer research or reducing our environmental impact through initiatives like "Trees for Bugs"—where our teams planted over 3,300 trees to enhance local ecosystems—we believe that every business should keep the personal touch and lend a hand to work towards a sustainable and responsible future for generations to come.

Why CSR matters today

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is more than just a business obligation; it's a heartfelt commitment to making the world a better place. In today's world, both customers and employees look to companies to lead the way in creating positive social and environmental change. By engaging in CSR activities, we don't just build trust and enhance our brand; we contribute to a brighter, more hopeful future for everyone.

Supporting causes like TKCP is deeply aligned with our core values of making a meaningful impact and taking responsibility. It's not just about business; it's about being human. It's about standing together to bring comfort, hope, and a sense of belonging to those who need it most. When we support these causes, we are not just helping others; we are reaffirming our shared humanity and our commitment to a better world.

How you can help

We encourage you to join us in supporting The Kids' Cancer Project. Whether you choose to donate, purchase a cuddly companion, or simply spread the word, every effort counts. Together, we can bring a little more comfort and hope to these brave children and their families.

Let’s make a difference—one teddy bear at a time.

We also share all the information on our planned events on Facebook. Follow us to stay in the loop.
