Privacy Policy
This privacy policy tells you what to expect when any company in the Kentico Group (“Kentico”) collect personal information about you if you are interested in working with Kentico as its employee.
Kentico is committed to protecting your personal information. Whenever you provide such information we will only use your information in line with all applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). Your information will be kept in a secure environment and access to it will be restricted according to the 'need to know' principle.
Applicants for a job
What data will be collected about you?
When you apply for a job at Kentico, Kentico will collect information provided in your application, your CV, and other provided documents, regardless whether provided via e-mail, contact form on jobs.kentico.com or any other way.
Collected data consist especially of contact details such as name, residence, date of birth, e-mail address and phone number and information necessary for evaluation of your application such as your education, skills and professional career.
How will Kentico use the data it collects about you and for what purposes?
Kentico will use your personal data for the following purposes:
- Recruitment process
- Kentico will use the data for the purposes of recruitment process, especially to evaluate your application, to perform interviews, tests etc. If you are selected for the job and both you and Kentico are interested in entering into the employment contract, the data will be used to conclude the contract.
- Processing of your data for this purpose is necessary to take steps prior to entering into the employment contract at your request within the meaning of the sec. 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. For this purpose, the data will be processed until the employment contract is concluded, resp. until it becomes obvious that the contract will not be concluded. You have no legal obligation to provide the data, nevertheless, in that case, you will not be able to successfully apply for a job at Kentico.
- Kentico’s database of potential employees
- If you explicitly give Kentico consent to keep information about you in Kentico’s database of potential employees, Kentico will keep your personal data, especially your CV, in its database and will inform you in case there is a suitable vacant job at Kentico.
- Processing of your data for this purpose is based on your consent within the meaning of the sec. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. Your personal data will be used only for the duration of your consent. You may withdraw the consent anytime simply by letting us know by e-mail at privacy@kentico.com. You have no legal obligation to provide the data, nevertheless, in that case, you cannot be kept in Kentico’s database of potential employees.
Information on vacant job
What data will be collected about you?
If you sign up for a notification in case the job you want to apply for becomes vacant, regardless whether via e-mail, jobs.kentico.com or any other way, Kentico will collect information you provide for this purpose. Collected data consist typically of basic contact details such as name, residence and e-mail address.
How will Kentico use the data it collects about you and for what purposes?
Kentico will use your personal data to inform you via e-mail in case the job you want to apply for becomes vacant. Your data will be processed for this purpose only if you explicitly give Kentico consent with it.
Processing of your data for this purpose is based on your consent within the meaning of the sec. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. Your personal data will be used only for the duration of your consent. You may withdraw the consent anytime simply by letting us know by e-mail at privacy@kentico.com. You have no legal obligation to provide the data, nevertheless, in that case, you cannot be informed about vacant jobs.
Workshops and other events
What data will be collected about you?
If you attend to a workshop or any other event organised by Kentico (“Event”), Kentico will collect information you provide when you sign up for the Event or during the Event. Collected data consist typically of basic contact details such as name, residence, company, telephone and e-mail address.
How will Kentico use the data it collects about you and for what purposes?
- Performance of the Event
- Kentico will use the data to organise the Event, to perform the Event and to provide you with necessary services related to Event.
- Further, Kentico may use the data in order to send you background papers and presentations from the Event, unless you let Kentico know by e-mail at privacy@kentico.com that you do not want these materials.
- Processing of your data for this purpose is necessary to perform the respective contractual obligations (and to take steps prior to entering into respective contractual obligations at your request) within the meaning of the sec. 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. For this purpose, the data will be processed until the termination of all the respective contractual obligations. You have no legal obligation to provide the data, nevertheless, in that case, you will not be able to attend to any Event.
- Evaluation of the Event
- Kentico may use your data also to evaluate the efficiency of the Event in recruitment of new employees. For this purpose, Kentico may also match the collected data with other data that Kentico collects about you if you apply for a job at Kentico.
- Processing of your data for this purpose is necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by Kentico within the meaning of the sec. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. For this purpose, the data may be processed until the termination of all the respective contractual obligations and further for next six months.
- Using of your photographs
- If you explicitly give Kentico consent to use of your photographs taken at the Event, Kentico may use the photographs to inform about the Event and anyhow promote the Event. For this purpose, the photographs may be published on Kentico’s websites or social media.
- Processing of your data for this purpose is based on your consent within the meaning of the sec. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. Your personal data will be used only for the duration of your consent. You may withdraw the consent anytime simply by by letting us know by e-mail at privacy@kentico.com. You have no legal obligation to provide the data.
HR marketing activities
What data will be used?
For HR marketing activities, Kentico uses only your basic contact details, especially name and e-mail address.
How will Kentico use the data?
Kentico will use your personal data for the HR marketing activities only with your explicit consent, given during your activities on website jobs.kentico.com or its subdomains.
If you give Kentico your consent with processing of your data for HR marketing purposes, Kentico will use your contact details to send you newsletters about working at Kentico and about events organized by Kentico.
Processing of your data for this purpose is based on your consent within the meaning of the sec. 6 (1)(a) of the GDPR. Your personal data will be used only for the duration of your consent. You may withdraw the consent anytime simply by clicking on the appropriate button on the footer of any marketing communication. You have no legal obligation to provide the data.
Recipients
Your personal data may be handed over to all companies in the Kentico Group:

- Kentico Software Pty Ltd., having a principal office at 83 Mount St., North Sydney, New South Wales 2060, Australia, and
- Kentico software s.r.o., with its registered office at Brno, Nové sady 996/25, ZIP code 602 00, Czech Republic.
Some of the abovementioned companies in the Kentico Group are seated outside the European Union, therefore your personal data may be transferred outside the European Union. As Kentico is responsible for your personal data, it always ensures that your data remains protected and secure when being transferred. The applicable safeguards are in the form of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks.
Your rights under the GDPR
As a data subject, you have all the rights under the GDPR, especially:
- the right to obtain confirmation of Kentico as to whether or not your personal data are being processed, and, where that is the case, access to the personal data and further information according to the sec. 15 of the GDPR such as the purposes of the processing, the categories of personal data concerned and the recipients or categories of recipient to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed;
- the right to obtain the rectification of inaccurate personal data concerning you according to the sec. 16 of the GDPR;
- the right to obtain the erasure of personal data under the circumstances set in the sec. 17 of the GDPR, e.g. in case the personal data are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed;
- the right to obtain restriction of processing under the circumstances set in the sec. 18 of the GDPR, e.g. you contest the accuracy of the processed personal data;
- the right to receive your personal data, which you have provided to Kentico, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit those data to another controller without hindrance from Kentico under the circumstances set in the sec. 20 of the GDPR;
- the right to object to processing of your personal data based on legitimate interests pursued by Kentico (within the meaning of the sec. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR) or to processing for direct marketing purposes, pursuant to the sec. 21 of the GDPR.

Other aspects of the data processing
Using in order to protect Kentico’s rights and legitimate interests
Kentico may use your data also to avoid potential litigations against it and to defend its rights and legitimate interests (especially before courts) related to the purpose for which the data were processed specified in this Privacy Policy (e.g. performance of the employment contract).
Processing of your data for this purpose is necessary for the legitimate interests pursued by Kentico within the meaning of the sec. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. For this purpose, the data may be processed for the period adequate to the relevant limitation periods, usually up to eleven years of the date when the last limitation period commences. This period suspends in case you assert any claim against Kentico related to the relevant purpose of processing of your data until the final decision of the court having jurisdiction in this case.
Data of third persons
In case you hand personal data of any other third person over to Kentico please make sure that the personal data are handed over in compliance with GDPR. Especially please ensure that such person is duly informed that its personal data will be handed over to Kentico and for what purpose.
Kentico may use the personal data for the purpose they were handed over. Processing of the personal data is based on the legitimate interests pursued by Kentico within the meaning of the sec. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
Data security
Any information you provide to Kentico is safeguarded and secure. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure correct usage of information, Kentico has put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures.
Access to your personal information is restricted to those Kentico employees who need to know that information in order to process it. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to disciplinary action, including job contract termination, if they fail to meet those obligations.
