Engineering Manager – Lead a High-Performing Product Team in Prague

Your Role and Contribution:

• Deliver. We’re releasing monthly. Ensure timely delivery, handle risks and dependencies… unblock your team. Help them break down business requirements into manageable parts and clear milestones. 
  Identify areas for improvement. Gather data and implement lightweight, repeatable processes and policies. Continuously increase delivery efficiency.

• Empower. You will get a healthy, self-organized, full-stack agile team. We do retros. Standups are short and efficient, and so is sprint planning. Support their career growth. Inspire, coach, and mentor. Build trust. In Kentico culture, feedback is always welcomed. When needed, hire the right talent or address potential conflicts constructively. Encourage collaboration and inclusivity. Lead with empathy.

• Align. Help translate the product vision into technical initiatives. Ensure smooth collaboration between the Product, UX, your team, and the rest of the company. Participate in or drive engineering initiatives - balance tech debt, maintain high standards, and promote modern practices. Think long-term.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Focus on delivery: You have multiple delivered projects under your belt. You can plan ahead,  balance risks, communicate proactively, and ensure timely delivery. Shipping high-quality work is a must.

• Proven team leadership: Do you have a history of empowering people? Do you have facilitation skills? Did you build a psychologically safe environment for your team? Can you make tough managerial decisions when needed? We’re ready to hear about it, as we truly care about our people in Kentico.

• Technical foundations: You understand the development process, tools, and software engineering terminology, enabling confident collaboration with engineers. We develop in C#, .NET 8, React, and Typescript. We use the Microsoft stack with Jira/Confluence on top.

• Proactive learner: You learn fast and are curious about high-level aspects of the business domain and the technical solution. You maintain up-to-date knowledge of software development methodologies, trends, and the product landscape. Share what you learn and translate it to improve Kentico.

• Change-oriented: You’re motivated to drive improvements and aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo. You are not afraid to take calculated risks and learn from mistakes.

• English proficiency: Most people in Kentico speak Czech, but our Jira, documentation, and events are in English. You should be ready to use English daily.
